If you are looking to add a creative option to your next celebration or event why not offer a tutored clay sculpting workshop. Immerse yourself and your guests in a unique, mindful experience with this three-hour ceramic treat. Lead by our ceramic expert who will come to your venue and will guide your guests through the art of slab building using templates to handcraft beautiful house tealight lanterns. The workshop begins with a warm welcome and an introduction to the craft. You'll explore various designs and example pieces, sparking your creativity and helping you envision your own unique piece. Familiarize yourself with the tools and materials as you embark on your creative endeavor. Under friendly guidance, you'll learn the fundamentals of slab building, a versatile hand-building technique. Using carefully designed templates, you'll cut and assemble the walls and roofs of your house lanterns. This process allows for personal touches, creating doors, windows, and intricate details that make each lantern one-of-a-kind. The lanterns are professionally finished to a high standard in a beautiful speckled white ceramic glaze. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experienced potters and no prior experience is necessary. Workshops are charged at £70 per person and require a minimum of 6 people attending. Everything you will need are included in the cost, including 1kg of clay per guest, the use of tools, materials and templates, glazing & firing and tuition. We ask for a deposit of £180 to secure your booking, this is redeemable against your final spend. Your finished creation will be left with us at the end of the workshop and will take around 3-4 weeks to dry and be bisque and glaze fired, the final pieces can be collected from us in Adlestrop by appointment or posted to one address at an additional cost. Tutor travelling costs are included within 10 miles of GL56 9TE and 85p per mile thereafter. Finished lanterns can be collected from Adlestrop, GL56 0YF by appointment, delivered to your preferred location at the cost of 95p per mile from GL56 0YF or they can be posted at an additional cost.
